2019 GTS 300 Touring
In the history of two-wheeled vehicles, the Vespa GTS is the most beloved in the world, having inherited the legacy of the legendary “Vespone”, as the biggest body – strictly in steel – Vespa has always been called. A Vespa on which to move around elegantly in the city, but also ready to travel, even on adventurous voyages, thanks to its powerful engine. Created in 2003 with the arrival of the Vespa GT125 and 200, the family of large Vespas then evolved beginning in 2005 with the arrival of the GTS version and and then of the engine capacities up to 300 cc. The large, convenient, comfortable, extraordinarily protective Vespa GTS combines its elegantly urban and city spirit with the tourism vocation which large Vespas have always embodied. On the basis of the renewed technical platform of the Vespa GTS comes a true range with a wealth of standard equipment that includes ABS and ASR safety systems. There are four versions available: Vespa GTS, GTS Super, GTS Touring and Vespa GTS SuperSport.
The Super version of embodies the typical Vespa GTS values of style, comfort, safety and outstanding sportiness while citing legendary models of the past sports such as the 1955 Vespa GS 150, the 1965 Vespa 180 SS and the 1985 T5 “Pole Position”. The SuperSport special series is born out of this base, characterized by even sportier graphics enhanced by the gritty matte metallic grey and yellow color schemes.
The new Vespa GTS Touring, on the other hand, is derives from the classic GTS base and represents the Vespa's vocation to touring. Millions of Vespas, equipped for tourism, have always travelled the roads of the world giving generations the opportunity to know each other, expanding their borders and encountering different cultures.
Developed on the technical basis of the Vespa GTS, the new Touring model comes off as a, vehicle of great stylistic impact that draws from the mythology of Vespa travel, and ready to face all journeys whether city or country. The Vespa GTS Touring is characterized by the evocative windshield that improves protection without affecting - thanks to its small size - the elegance, by the front luggage rack that, along with the rear one and the helmet compartment, provide excellent load capacity to tackle memorable holidays, alone or in company. The Touring also has a dedicated logo positioned on the leg shield back plate.
The evolution of style
The most sporting of the Vespa range continuously evolves and hits new standards of safety, technology, comfort and painstaking attention to detail. All of the Vespa large body versions boast a spacious helmet compartment, a more and more comfortable seating position and latest generation instrumentation with plenty of information. The new series standard features a USB port, located inside the compartment of the leg shield, while the front turn lights house a series of LED that act as day running lights.
Engines
Vespa GTS, GTS Touring and GTS SuperSport come with a 300 cc modern and advanced 4 valve x 4 stroke single cylinder engine with electronic injection, able to provide a maximum output of 15.6 kW (21.2 HP) at 7,750 rpm with maximum torque of 22 Nm at only 5,000 rpm. Values that ensure heightened acceleration readiness and in general extremely brilliant performance, making the new larger body Vespa ideal vehicles for city roads and touring, even long range travels, in full comfort whether alone or with a passenger.
Versions, special series and colors
The classic GTS is available in metallic black, beige and grey and in pastel blue. The adventurous GTS Touring derives from this base, characterized by a double front and rear luggage rack and available in metallic red and metallic brown. The gritty GTS Super, recognizable at a glance with its black, diamond finished wheel rims and saddle with double covering and piping, is available in four colour variations: the classic black, white and pastel red and the new metallic green. Vespa GTS SuperSport is the absolute top in sportiness on a Vespa, a strong character that comes out straight away through its completely black wheel rims, metallic matt grey and yellow paintwork enhanced by dedicated graphics and, like with the Super version, the saddle with two distinct coverings and the new instrument cluster graphics.

A step forward for technology
The Piaggio Group is the first manufacturer to introduce scooter ASR electronic traction control, once available only on the best motorcycles, which prevents wheelspin. The electronic control package is rounded-off by the ABS, anti-braking system. Both are standard features on the Vespa GTS 300 family.
The sophisticated Vespa Multimedia Platform is available on the entire Vespa GTS range. This is the platform that allows smartphone connection to the on-board electronic system to transform it into a multi-function tool, a full-fledged complex computer able to simultaneously display information such as tachometer, rev meter, and also instantaneous engine power and torque, longitudinal acceleration, instant and average fuel consumption, average speed and battery voltage and much more.
The smartphone connected to the Vespa Multimedia Platform also makes it possible to display maps and routes as well as identify petrol stations and Service Stations. The tire condition monitoring feature takes synergistic advantage of the vehicle and smartphone sensors to monitor tyre wear and inflation, immediately alerting the rider of any potentially critical situations. The general analysis feature monitors vehicle condition.
